Inflammation Epidemic
In January we released the results of our findings of a survey into inflammation in the UK and what you can do to avoid it. This project gained high profile media coverage.
Key findings included:
81% of Brits admit to having an unhealthy lifestyle, with nearly half (45%) saying they don’t sleep well, 43% saying they feel constantly stressed and a third (35%) admit they don’t exercise much
One in five (18%) people in Britain suffer from chronic inflammation
Three in five are aware that chronic inflammation in the body can lead to other, much more serious health conditions BUT 72% do nothing to avoid developing it
But while so many of us suffer, our study revealed that very few take the steps they need to ensure that this silent killer is kept at bay. A huge 81% of Brits admit to having an unhealthy lifestyle, with nearly half (45%) not sleeping well at night, feeling constantly stressed (43%) and a third (35%) saying they don’t exercise much – all proven contributors to inflammation.
Award-winning pharmacist and nutritionist Aidan Goggins shared his top tips on reducing inflammation which included: chewing gum, not oversleeping, adding spice to your plate, drinking coffee and laughing more.
We achieved 19 pieces of coverage in national, regional and consumer media with an estimated audience of 69.2 million, positioning FutureYou Cambridge as experts in this topical area. The coverage book can be viewed here
