FutureYou Cambridge launches Brain Complex+

We’re introducing Brain Complex+ to our science-backed nutritional range of supplements, it includes key ingredients to support brain health.

Brain Complex+ includes Ginkgo biloba, which has been linked to preserving and enhancing cognitive function, phosphatidylserine and Bacopa extract, two heavily researched ingredients for brain health. Plus added bioavailable B vitamins and zinc for normal cognition and nervous system function and protection against oxidative stress.

To support the launch we’ve also looked into how people feel about their memory, after months of sitting at home, what’s been described as the new ‘brain drain’.   39% of us say they experience ‘brain fog’ on a regular basis.  You can read more about the findings  here

As well as investing in a science-backed nutritional supplement here are some other useful tips to help keep your brain in tip-top condition.

Eat well. Select a diet high in antioxidants, with plenty of fruit and vegetables. Antioxidants are molecules that fight free radicals in your body.  Free radicals are compounds that can cause harm if their levels become too high. They’re linked to multiple illnesses, including a decrease in cognition as well as diabetes and heart disease.

Try a new activity. It could be learning to play an instrument, learning a language or a new hobby. Something that actively stimulates your brain.

Stay connected. Evidence suggests that being socially active helps maintain thinking skills and slows cognitive decline in later life.

Move around. Physical activity is good for your body and mind, as exercises increase blood flow and oxygen delivery to your brain. Even just taking the stairs rather than going in the lift can make a difference.

Keep safe. Head injuries increase the risk of impaired brain function. Wear a helmet when biking or skiing, and keep paths and steps well lit.

Get enough sleep. During sleep, your brain works to repair itself, so try to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night.

De-stress. Excessive worry and stress has been shown to lower performance on cognitive tests. Try yoga, meditation, taking a walk or listening to music to relax and clear your head.
